  • Safety: Every message is checked by an automated safety filter, with immediate email alerts sent to parents if a message contains harmful, sexually explicit, or harassing content.

*CDI Scores: 1= low score, minimal participation and engagement, queries and responses are terse and offer little to no evidence of reasoning; 2= some engagement is taking place, queries and responses are partially explained or demonstrate flawed reasoning; 3= pivot point, student is ‘meeting Cal half-way’, queries and responses are on topic and demonstrate attempts to use reason to solve problems, answers may be wrong but the student is trying to explain their thinking; 4= student is showing clear signs of progress by giving detailed descriptions of thought processes, complex concepts can be explained using their own language, and correct answers achieved; 5= the student shows signs of deep understanding by asking about potential real-world applications of a concept, or applying a recently learned concept to a completely novel situation. The student shows understanding of why a concept is significant, and it may inspire them to consider other related concepts.
